Most of us at some point in our lives have thought about how we would spend the money if we ever won the lottery. Perhaps a new car, a nice holiday and the house of your dreams would be amongst your list of purchases.
But what does it mean to dream of the lottery?
When exploring dreams it’s often helpful to look at the language we use in every day life, as well as the way you describe the dream itself. If we talk about the service received from a particular organisation being “a bit of a lottery” then we usually mean that how you are treated by that company depends on who you speak with. It’s “pot luck” on whether you’ll get treated well or not.
It may be that life has been a bit of a lottery of late, that the outcomes of any given situation seem to be in the power of something (or someone) which is outside of your control. Consider writing a list of things you can control and those you can’t, to help you deal positively with frustrations before they become unhealthy.
As nice as it would be for this to be a predictive dream, dreaming of winning the lottery can recognise current financial difficulties and how a windfall would ease any financial burdens you may have. Winning money isn’t always about money itself though, wealth is measured in different ways and you may describe yourself as someone who is rich with love and laughter. Your relationship with money will therefore have an impact in how you analyse this dream. Take time to think about other ways in which your life is rich (and how this influences how you feel); if you’re having cash problems you may choose to talk these through with a financial adviser.
Many people say they dream that they are about to open a box or envelope that contains the winning lottery numbers but just before they do, they wake up! Take solace in the fact this probably means you are not due to have this winning combination yet and that things could just be working out as they are meant. It may also be that you are on the verge of a breakthrough in some area of your life but are being frustrated by practical matters. If you have plans for a great adventure, then start to think about how this can be achieved with helpful goals and a positive action plan.
